It is popular to evoke number seven but I am not sure that souls divide themselves exactly in seven categories (I think they are rather unique and diverse, so it is difficult to divide them into rigid frames).

Your answer is correct. People usually arrange something in shelves if they need to convey some information. We live in dual world, our form of expression includes desire to divide and separate different notions.
